A town you want to talk about
It would be wonderful if, just like your favorite film or book, you’ll want to talk about the town!
It could be about places of interest or traditional events that have their own history,
It could be about lovely people and shops you can find there,
It could be delicious local food, that you’ll want to recommend.
Even if it is only a simple experience but an obvious moment of ‘happiness’.
People who live, people who work, people who learn, people who grow up, people who hang out in the town … If each person is proud of their own town, it will get brighter and brighter.
And the atmosphere will spread from person to person more and more, it will become the magnetic force of the town.
If you think about the relationship between the town and the people, taking care of each other and making things frequent and connected, you can see the next development.
Shall we think about such a town development with us?
Origin of company name
Y3 (Y-cube) was derived from the idea that ‘all 3 dimensions are good’. If the first dimension becomes the second and then the third dimension, the possibilities spread more and more. Our individual good relationships with you lead to a ‘good thing’ for someone else. I wanted to make such a company. Lab is from a laboratory. With the desire to keep researching and creating new things.
+1 Dimension Project
The + 1d project is the creation and voluntarily started undertakings by Y-Cube Lab. + 1d is another dimension (surface, dimension, spread). We would like to propose a new perspective that will make the tomorrow of people living in and around the city, including ourselves, shine more diversely. We believe that such efforts will make our work deeper, wider and richer someday.
Match-te is an original design paper tape made with love and support for the ‘town’ in mind. ‘Machi’ is the japanese word for ‘town’. Among the stationery items, paper tape is the one most used as communication tool to convey thoughts from person to person, such as letters, gifts, and photo albums. This paper tape was born as ‘a medium’, with the idea to capture the appeal of the town. The selected match-te designs are not only famous spots but also local locations unique to the area. I want the people who live there and those who are connected with them to rediscover the charms of familiar towns, and I want them to gift a Match-te to whoever they like to introduce them to their own town. Also I want Match-te to be a souvenir and a message that says “Please come again!” for the visitors. Even if you have never been there, you can get to know the town through Match-te and wish to visit there someday. I hope you will discover the local and original charm of the town in Japan!
